Straps

 

When the seat belt is properly fastened and adjusted for length, the pressure on each strap should be evenly distributed across the width. There should also be no excessive curl in the width.

 

The stitching on the seat belt should be permanently sewn and cannot be easily dismantled. The burning speed of the belt after fire should be less than 75mm/min.

 

The width of the shoulder belt should not be less than 70mm under the case of belt load. under the load of 15KN, the length of the belt should not change more than 10%.

 

HANS belt in the case of with load, the width can not be less than 44mm. under the load of 25kN, the crotch belt can not break and its width can not be less than 44mm.

 

The minimum width of the part of the leg belt that is in contact with the rider's body under the case of with load is 44mm, and the minimum width of the part that is not in contact is 25mm.

 

Under a load of 25kN, the crotch strap itself cannot break. The loop buckle on the crotch strap cannot break under a load of 18kN.

 

Metal parts

 

The metal parts on the safety belt should be rust-proof. Its surface should be smooth to prevent cutting the belt or the race suit. When a load of 15kN is applied to the belt, the sliding at the adjusting buckle should not exceed 15mm, and the overall sliding between the fixing point and the connecting disc should not exceed 25mm.

 

Connection discs

 

The connection disc and toggle (button) release should be easily identifiable to facilitate quick release of the harness by the rider or rescuer. The operation of the release of the connection disc should be easy for the rider to do with one gloved hand (either left or right hand). The operation should only require turning the toggle block in one direction or pressing the button. The area of contact between the connecting disc and the body should be between 20cm² and 40cm².

 

Toggle lock

 

If the toggle does not have a protective cover, the end of the toggle should not extend more than 10 mm beyond the outer edge of the connection plate. 50N-100N (2Nm-4Nm) should be used to trigger the release of the toggle.

 

The latch cannot be released under a load of 15kN.

 

Push button lock

 

If it is a key switch, the key should be on the outer side of the connection plate and should not be in contact with the body. The force to trigger the release should be 10N-60N, the key size should not be smaller than 5 cm2, the key should be red and the rest of the attachment plate should not be red.

 

The label of the safety belt is located on the left shoulder strap, within 20 cm from the buckle.

 

The size of the label is 84mm*44mm, white on black, Arial font, 8pt font size, and the manufacturer's name in bold as much as possible. The content of the label should be difficult to be changed by the user, and there should be a HANS label on the HANS seat belt, with a minimum size of 35mm*40mm.

 

How to use the racing harness correctly?

 

At the back of each shoulder belt, there should be a separate fixing point.

 

All straps, should share a common connection disc. On the connection disc, the shoulder belt buckle and the crotch belt buckle should be inserted into the adjacent holes.

 

When the seat belt is fastened, the toggle of the rotating release should be pointing downwards to prevent accidental touching of the release in an accident.

 

Shoulder belts and crotch belts should not be in contact with each other.
